Who could be interested in this workshop and why?
Senior PhD and group leaders in Fishery Science, Ph. D. students on Fishery Sciences and Fishery Managers. Major research disciplines engaged in the definition of Stock, Management units, and Fisheries, such as those biological ones, e.g. Genetics, Parasitology and Marine Biology, those oceanographic-related ones e.g., ocean current patterns, microchemistry, GIS-tech and remote sensing tracking, and those management-oriented ones such as Assessment, Economy, and Politics. In addition, a special issue of a SCI journal is being worked out to convene for cooperative contributions among the research teams participating in the meeting.

How should I register?
If you are interested in registering for the workshop, do it directly on the workshop webpage form or send a message to the Logistics staff in charge of this. Please see the Conference information section in the meeting webpage.

We are very close to the conference - can I still register?
When the conference is fully booked it will be announced on the homepage of the conference website. If there is no such announcement, it means there is still room available at the current time and you can therefore still register online.

When is the deadline for registration?
Participants should be pre-registered by September 7th, 2014 and then confirm their attendance no later than September 17th, 2014. If you wish to attend, we recommend you to register asap since this is on a first-come, first-served basis. Respecting those deadlines will assure that we will be able to send all the relevant information and documentation in good time before the meeting.

I am not yet sure if I can definitely attend the conference. Is it okay for me to register now and then cancel later, or just not turn up at the conference?
If you are not sure that you can attend, do not register at this stage, but bear in mind that only 40 applicants can be accommodated at the workshop venue, so early bird…

Can you send me an invitation letter?
We can only deliver standard invitation letters to guest speakers, but could certify your registration once completed and upon request. Please get in touch with the Administrative staff in charge of this in the “Conference Information” tab of the webpage: http://ephyslab.uvigo.es/DelFishStock/

I do not have any funding to attend the conference, can the Organisation waive my registration fee/give me discount/subsidize my expenses?
Unfortunately, the conference organizers do not have funds enough to support travel/accommodation expenses except to the guest speakers. Nevertheless, see that registration is free as well as conference drinks, food and the welcome reception are on the Organising Committee and Sponsors (co-financing of congress dinner on Thursday 25 will be requested to attendants, ca. 30 €), so you only have to find a way to reach Vigo and find accommodation there (the administration staff in the “Conference Information” tab can help you with this).

Are there any group travel arrangements for the conference, official air carriers or official travel agents?
No, it is easier and more cost-efficient for you to shop around and find the most convenient travel option. The conference organisers do not provide shuttles from Vigo airport to the conference venue (but yes from ECIMAT station to the hotels), otherwise transfers by public transport are normally available and information on these can be found on the “Location” tab which can be found in the meeting webpage.

How do I book accommodation for the workshop?
Accommodation options are included on the meeting website, see its “Location” tab for details. Please note that you should book early to guarantee availability. To explore alternate accommodation options in Vigo city, please report to the Administrative staff in tab “Conference Information”

How do I transfer from Vigo to ECIMAT Marine Station?
A microbus route will be available from AC Hotel Palacio Universal to Ecimat Marine Station for all attendees at the scheduled timetable (see “Programme” tab in the website). Alternatively, transfers by public transport are available and information could be found on the “Location” tab of the website.

What materials will I get when I arrive to the conference?
At the registration desk you will receive a conference bag containing the meeting brochure, a notebook and a pencil, a touristic map of Vigo City and your name badge which we ask you to wear throughout conference hours for security purposes.

I want to make sure that I am kept fully informed about this conference, and sent all relevant information about it. What should I do?
