Objetives

The main objective of the AURORA coordinated project is to develop, validate, and apply a numerical tool to investigate the stability of armour units for breakwaters. The project aims to improve the understanding of the physical processes and flow patterns that trigger armour unit instability and to enhance the design and long-term stability of mound breakwaters under increasingly energetic sea states.

The numerical tool will be rigorously validated against experimental data and applied to real engineering case studies. In addition, the numerical simulations will generate extensive datasets to support a machine-learning framework for predicting breakwater stability and performance under varying environmental conditions.

Specific Objectives

Each objective is linked to one of the work packages (WP) described in the Work Plan.
